She had her first appointment at her Pediatrician's office last Friday. Dr. Cochran is amazing, we actually nick named him the Baby Whisperer with Laney. She and Hadley get silent and happy when he walks in the room....pretty amazing actually. She did so well on everything he checked that he said she didn't need to return for about 7 more weeks!
Hadley Claire fits right in with our family. Actually Joey and I both have said it's already difficult to think of us as a family without Hadley. Laney asks to help with things for Hadley and to hold her every day now. Today, Joey even ventured out for her first "shopping trip" (Walmart) with the girls and did great....if you don't count the fit Hadley threw in the store. ;-) It really did go pretty well.
Tonight we went on another one of our family walks. We went over 3 miles (which is amazing considering Joey gave birth to Hadley 14 days ago). Hadley LOVES the walks and falls asleep immediately, and Laney also LOVES them but spends the time singing songs. One of her favorites is the song about rain drops being lollipops and she loves opening her mouth all the way up an singing "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah".
There's only 4 more days until we head to Seaside! Laney has a blast there and is crazy about the ocean. We were very nervous about the idea of taking a 2.5-week-old and a 22.5-month-old to the beach, but we are lucky enough to have lots of help from family on the trip (doctors have also ok'd the trip as long as Hadley doesn't get too much sun or heat). Mommy & Daddy even have secret plans to have the rest of the family watch the girls while we sneak out for an adult night together. Fittingly, the house we are staying in is actually called "Pitter Patter"....how perfect is that? We are very excited to spend more quality time with our family, and the 4th of July trip to Seaside is a fantastic way to do it!
