Hadley Claire is 2 weeks old!

Hadley turned 2 weeks old today! Her first 10 nights home went extremely well! She basically slept from 10:30 - 2:30 & 3:30 - 6:00. Laney was waking up every 60-90 minutes when she was this age! The last two nights have been a little more difficult, but she is still very easy to keep happy!

She had her first appointment at her Pediatrician's office last Friday. Dr. Cochran is amazing, we actually nick named him the Baby Whisperer with Laney. She and Hadley get silent and happy when he walks in the room....pretty amazing actually. She did so well on everything he checked that he said she didn't need to return for about 7 more weeks!

Hadley Claire fits right in with our family. Actually Joey and I both have said it's already difficult to think of us as a family without Hadley. Laney asks to help with things for Hadley and to hold her every day now. Today, Joey even ventured out for her first "shopping trip" (Walmart) with the girls and did great....if you don't count the fit Hadley threw in the store. ;-) It really did go pretty well.

Tonight we went on another one of our family walks. We went over 3 miles (which is amazing considering Joey gave birth to Hadley 14 days ago). Hadley LOVES the walks and falls asleep immediately, and Laney also LOVES them but spends the time singing songs. One of her favorites is the song about rain drops being lollipops and she loves opening her mouth all the way up an singing "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah".

There's only 4 more days until we head to Seaside! Laney has a blast there and is crazy about the ocean. We were very nervous about the idea of taking a 2.5-week-old and a 22.5-month-old to the beach, but we are lucky enough to have lots of help from family on the trip (doctors have also ok'd the trip as long as Hadley doesn't get too much sun or heat). Mommy & Daddy even have secret plans to have the rest of the family watch the girls while we sneak out for an adult night together. Fittingly, the house we are staying in is actually called "Pitter Patter"....how perfect is that? We are very excited to spend more quality time with our family, and the 4th of July trip to Seaside is a fantastic way to do it!

More Alsman Girls Pictures

Hadley Claire is adjusting well at home. It already feels like she's been a part of our lives forever even though she's only 9 days old. Life is so much fun with her in our family. She is happy and content, and is a goofball at times. We always are laughing just watching her scan the room and react to things. She is also a MUCH better sleeper than her sister (sorry Laney!!!). Since she came home, her typical night starts at 10:30, then she wakes up at 2:30 for about an hour, then sleeps until 5:30 or 6:00. Laney is doing better than we expected with her new sister. Today, she even asked to kiss Hadley and offered her new sister a coveted gummy bear! Every time Hadley cries, Laney tells Joey that Hadley is hungry! She's so smart! We will keep you posted, as Hadley has her first doctor's appointment tomorrow. Until then, please enjoy these pictures (and browse the pictures from the hospital on snapfish by clicking here).

Hadley Claire Alsman

OK, so it's obviously been a very long time (almost 2 years) since our last post. A LOT has happened since then. Joey and I both have new jobs (she is teaching adults returning to school in preparation for their GED exams, I am an analyst in the medical sales division of Mead Johnson). We have a new house on Evansville's east side (pictures to come). The biggest news, however, is our brand new daughter, Hadley Claire Alsman. She was born at 5:17 pm on Tuesday, June 10th. She was born 7 lbs. 2 oz., 19.75" long and with a thick head of dark hair. She looks a lot like Laney (our 22-month-old daughter). Check out all of our pictures of Hadley's Birthday by clicking here. We have been so blessed over the last 2 years. The birth of both of our girls has completely altered out lives, and have given us more joy than we knew was possible. God has really blessed us, and we thank Him for that. In the mean time, more family has moved back to Evansville, making our family's life here even more enjoyable. We never thought our girls would have grandparents from both sides of the family in town, two great grandparents, and two wonderful aunts that are so much fun for Hadley and Laney to play with. God really is great.
